The main causes of toothache is tooth decay and enamel fracture. Gaps in the dentin reveal very sensitive pulp of the tooth and under the influence of irritating foods or liquids, it starts to hurt. If there is a continuous pulp irritation, it can lead to inflammation – then the pain is very severe.
As a result of pulp inflammation abscess may form, which also are a cause of pain. Inflammation of the gums or exposed teeth necks also manifest by pain. Inflammation of the periosteum, which is a serious complication of the disease, is characterized by very sharp teeth pain, treated with antibiotics.
