5 things you need to know about dental implants
A dental implant procedure?in Poland is the best option for a tooth root replacement. Like teeth roots, dental implants are placed in the jawbone. They are used to support the visible parts of teeth: dental crowns, teeth?bridges, and dentures. Teeth implants are made of titanium, which is light, strong and biocompatible, which means that it is not rejected by the organism. Teeth implants require also the same care as real teeth such as brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups. This kind of treatment has the success rate up to 98% and with proper care, implants can last a lifetime.
1. Dental implants are for everyone
In most cases, anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine extraction or oral surgery can consider dental implant treatment. The main conditions are healthy gums and bone to hold the implant. The patient should also keep good oral hygiene.
An individual medical assessment should be carried out for smokers, people suffering from chronic disorders like diabetes or heart disease and patients who have had radiation therapy (head/neck area). If you are considering teeth implants, talk to your dentist to see if they are right for you.
2. The advantages of dental implants
Improved appearance – teeth implants look and feel like your own teeth and because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.
Improved speech – with poor-fitting dentures, the teeth can slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without worrying that teeth might slip.
Improved comfort – implants eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.
Easier eating -dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.
Improved self-esteem – teeth implants can give you your smile back and help you feel better about yourself.
Durability – implants are very durable and last for many years. With good care, implants last a lifetime.
3. Dental implants service step by step
Step 1. The first step in the teeth implant treatment is the consultation with the dentist and development of an individualized treatment plan for the patient. The plan contains the ?specific needs and medical condition of the patient. TP is prepared by a team of professionals.
Step 2. The next step is to place a small screw (implant) into the bone socket of the missing tooth. The jawbone grows around the implanted metal post and anchors it in the jaw. The healing process can take from 4 to 6 months.
Step 3. After the implant has connected with the jawbone, a small abutment is attached to the post to safely hold the new tooth.
Step 4. To make the new tooth or teeth, your dentist has to take impressions of your teeth, and create a model of your bite (which captures all of your teeth, their shape, and arrangement). The new tooth or teeth are based on this model and are called dental crowns, which are then attached to the abutment. Instead of one or more single crowns, there are also other solutions like dental bridges or dentures on implants.
Your dentist will also match the color of the new teeth to your natural teeth.
4. Dental implants procedure is almost painless
In opinion of most Dental Travel Poland patients who have received the treatment in our dental clinics in Poland, there is very little discomfort involved in the teeth implants procedure. Dentists use local anesthesia during the treatment and most patients claim that implants involve less pain than a tooth extraction. Some mild soreness after the dental implant can be treated with over-the-counter pain medications like Tylenol or Motrin.
5. My insurance and the dental implants treatment costs
In general, that kind of dental treatment is not covered by general dental insurance. It may be possible, but depending on the insurance plan or cause of the tooth loss. Detailed questions should be discussed with your dentist or insurance provider. In case of costly dental treatments, a very good option is to get the dental service performed abroad. The treatment abroad is also not refundable, but the prices are even up to 70% lower than in the UK or Norway. Thanks to that more people can afford to get a healthy smile.
